"Interesting major story happening with media in the UK at the moment. One of our tackiest “newspapers” has just announced it is to close down on Sunday following a major phone hacking scandal of a murdered schoolgirl. They have also paid huge sums of money to the police for their assistance! The paper, The News of the World, is owned by News International and they made the decision a couple of hours ago but from yesterday all their major advertisers started pulling out so although many people were surprised – I wasn’t that surprised.
At the moment News International(Rupert Murdoch owned) are protected the editor and claiming she was not aware of these huge payments the paper were making the phone hacking that was rife in the paper at that time!!! They were also hacking the lines of families of soldiers had died etc!!
