Free Planet - liberation from ritualistic mumbo jumbo

crops fail, make a sacrifice to the gods,
tsunami hits, make a sacrifice to the gods,
lightning kills, punishment of the gods.

It's this issue of appeasing wrathful gods that has so stunted and psychologically crippled human development with its insistence on murderous ritual and ridiculous penance.

Why are we doing this to ourselves, as a race of so-called intelligent people?

Confession time. I practise the Japanese martial art of aikido. It's something I enjoy but it's a highly ritualised form of self-defense whose learning is more like a pre-choreographed dance between uke and shite. The short video that accompanies this post is of Mr. Anthony Yates, 6th Dan Aikido Yoshinkan, the foundation of the style of aikido I study. Every lesson starts the same way.

Bow to the master, present in spirit.
Bow to the teacher, present in person.

But these are just figurative offerings, there is no sacrifice to a god. It's more about respect for those who pass down knowledge. It's also about setting a standard form of respectful behaviour in the class between the learning 'combatants' so that the techniques can be passed down within a frame work of relative physical safety.

There is no 'passing down of knowledge' in the opening three examples of crop failure, tsunami incident and lightning strike. The evocation of angry earth gods, one god or spirit is a demeaning weapon to subjugate our development and make sure our brains work in a specific way that allows 'society' to do what it does. But mostly that's meant the WARS and PROFIT and SLAVERY discussed in a recent post more than just a t-shirt. And still does to this day. If you want to make armies, be they financial or military, you have to have a pliant and/or willing nation to fulfill the role of infantry or cavalry or pilot. You have to set aside a suitable number of these citizens to sacrifice to THE GODS OF WAR, basically your effort to 'win at all costs' has to be funded by fundamentally-insane ritualistic sacrifices.

My alternative title for this post was something along the lines of: surviving a randomistic universe. And this is a very important ethical point. The world (in fact, the universe) may have recognisable patterns, based on the ability of 'stuff' to 'coalesce' into the everyday matter/radiation we see about us. You look like your mum and dad. A flower has a specific number of petals. Winds caress growing waves on the ocean. But mankind makes everything in his image, at least he likes to think that's the way his world works, a reflection of his inner desires or drives. But it's not. Full stop. The world upon which man's Society has evolved is a randomistic scatter-shot of interstellar settlings and coolings of astronomical accident.

Note: this is not some Richard Dawkins-exalting atheist litany either, so stop that thought in its tracks. Though 'science' has gone some way to having a go at explaining how 'stuff' became, it's still only at a foetal stage of development with many decades of refinement or total rewrite before it strikes more than just comedy gold, imho.

So, back to the original premise of this post: liberation from ritualistic mumbo jumbo. Your world is CRAMMED FULL OF THAT SHIT, and it's not just intended to 'better your technique' let me tell you. It's designed SPECIFICALLY to make sure you do what you're told and keep paying and paying so that some can live better lives than others. The 'ritualistic mumbo jumbo' is your 'slave training'.
