Animal Psychology & Behavioral Modification Technuqes, Aversion Therapy or Torture?
Really interesting and thought provoking. If we class animals and humans as 'different' then that leaves the door open to treating animals differently. Behaviorism (Skinner, Tolman, Pavlov and Spock) suggest that negative reinforcement conditions the desired response.
Animals its suggested respond 'better' to negative rather than positive reinforcement...hmmmmm...not too sure about that. Also the moment you accept that all animals have sentience (Thorndike Hauser) then the implications of aversion techniques with animals becomes a troubling idea.
