I was pleasantly surprised with what the Israeli Mossad had to say in speaking out against an attack on Iran.

is far from being an existential threat, and that an attack would endanger the entire
region. “Ultra-Orthodox radicalization [among Jews] poses a bigger threat than [Iranian
President] Ahmadinejad,” he said, according to Ynet, the website of the Israeli
daily Yedioth Ahronoth. “The State of Israel cannot be destroyed. An attack on Iran
could affect not only Israel, but the entire region for 100 years.” He added that while
Iran should be prevented from becoming a nuclear power, its capabilities are still “far
from posing an existential threat to Israel.”
This wasn’t the first time that Halevy, who headed the Mossad from 1998 to 2002,
expressed opposition to an attack on Iran. In 2008, he told Time magazine that attacking
Iran should only be used as a last resort, as its effects could resonate in the region
for a century.
Nor is Halevy alone. Former Mossad chief Meir Dagan, and former Shin Bet head
Yuval Diskin have both publicly expressed their opposition to an attack. Defense Minister
Barak went on a several-day trip to Britain, to discuss the matter.
While U.S. intelligence officials and military representatives tell EIR they are
strongly opposed to an Israeli attack, which would bring in the United States, there is
no indication that the resistance could stop the deranged President. The only assurance
of safety is for Obama to be relieved of power.

1) LaRouche: The only way to stop World War III is to remove Obama from office now.
Speaking on the LPAC-TV Weekly Report Nov. 2, American statesman
and economist Lyndon LaRouche delivered an unambiguous message: If President
Barack Obama is not removed from office right away, the world is headed in the very
short term to World War III. Here is what he said:
“The background is this: We have a general economic breakdown crisis in process
in the trans-Atlantic region, entirely. The United States is on the verge of a total
collapse; Europe is on the verge of a total collapse; other parts of the world are on the
verge of a total collapse: I mean, a total breakdown. Not a “recession,” not a depression,
but a breakdown crisis. And the hyperinflation in the trans-Atlantic region is like a
ticking clock: It brings you up to the point where the explosion occurs. And we’re in
that situation now.
“At this point, you have, now, Russia, China, and India, which are the dominant
features in the Asian region, or the Eurasian region, if you prefer. This region has not
yet been struck by this crisis, in the way the trans-Atlantic has. So therefore, now, you
have the British, with their American stooge, Obama, in the process of crashing the
entire economic system of the trans-Atlantic region. We’re almost at the point, where a
total collapse occurs. In the meantime, you have troubles, of course, for the countries
in Asia, but Russia is not in the worst condition by any means; China is strong; India
has a certain strength; and other countries in the Asian sector, or the Pacific region,
have a certain degree of integrity, which is lacking in the trans-Atlantic sector.
“So now, you’ve got a critical point: You’ve got a breakdown of the British Empire,
in all of its trans-Atlantic associates, except for partly Argentina, which is one of the
exceptions; whereas on the other side, you still have strength, and some form of growth,
not really net growth, but growth, in terms of Russia, China, India, and other Asian
countries. . . .
“At this point, you have the largest accumulated force, U.S. military force, in the
eastern part of the Mediterranean, and in the area of the Indian Ocean. Now, these
forces are enormous, relatively speaking. Virtually the entire crush power for general
war of the United States, is focused on deployment of forces, or support of those forces,
into that region—call it the “new Balkan” region, the area south of Turkey, going into
Iran, going into Pakistan. This whole area is now a new Balkan area, which is a trap, to
trigger World War III.
“That’s what the state is; this is our problem.
“It can be stopped. It can be stopped, if Obama is removed from office. Because
if Obama were removed from office, by being impeached, or put out of action on the
EIR basis of charges against him, of mental charges, Section 4 of the 25th Amendment,
where he could be out; unless he’s pulled out in that fashion, we’re going to have this
war, as it stands now. And it’s going to come on soon.”
At the conclusion of the discussion, LaRouche added an additional crucial warning
about the campaign he personally has led for the reinstatement of Glass-Steagall:
“If you don’t go after Obama, his elimination, as your first target, you will not get
Glass-Steagall.
“If you go at Obama first, you can win. If you don’t go at Obama first, you’re going
to lose! So what is the sincerity of your commitment to Glass-Steagall, if you won’t
do the thing beforehand, that enables you to get Obama out and get Glass-Steagall
through in the second hand? Obama out, first! Then you’ll get Glass-Steagall!”

3) Financial oligarchy hones in on Italy. The European Union and the financial
oligarchy that controls it have destroyed another European government, forcing Prime
Minister George Papandreou to withdraw plans for a referendum on the EU austerity
package; this has pushed the opposition into a unity government with the ruling
PASOK party to implement genocidal austerity under political conditions of full loss
of national sovereignty.
Once Papandreou capitulated, the EU bureaucrats immediately turned against
Italy, demanding more severe austerity from the Berlusconi government, and insisting
on the placement of EU monitors in that country, to oversee their compliance with the
austerity measures.
Citing “senior European Union sources,” the Irish Times reported Nov. 4 that Italy
has agreed to have the IMF and the EU monitor its progress on reforms on pensions,

labor markets, and privatizations. In fact, such an agreement will only set the stage for
ungovernability, as a confrontation with the labor unions and some political parties is
gua ranteed.
4) Glass-Steagall support is growing, but . . .
Co-sponsors for Rep. Marcy Kaptur’s H.R. 1489 have now grown to 52, with significant additions over the last week.
In addition, the voices in favor of restoring Glass-Steagall in the media, including the
blogosphere, are getting more and more numerous, ranging from the “right” (Andrew
Breitbart’s “Big Government”), to the middle (Robert Kuttner of the Center for American
Progress), to the “left” (Robert Reich).
Labor union resolutions in favor of H.R. 1489 continue to pour in to Congressional
offices, and there is intense discussion at the Occupy Wall Street demonstrations
around the country on the issue, frequently led by LaRouchePAC supporters.
Yet, there continues to be no movement in the U.S. Senate, which is absolutely
essential if the restoration is to become a workable proposition. Notable, for example,
is that AFL-CIO president Richard Trumka, whose organization has formally endorsed
H.R. 1489, refuses to promote it in public, and instead, continues to take the path of
allegedly qualified support for Obama.
Obama, however, is totally opposed to restoring Glass-Steagall, as his actions in
2010, and his deployment of Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner on Capitol Hill this
year demonstrate. British puppet Obama cannot be expected to change—nor will he.
Thus, as LaRouche emphasized on the Nov. 2 LPAC Weekly Report, Obama must
be removed first, or at least significantly weakened with moves toward impeachment, if
Glass-Steagall is to have a chance of being implemented, as it must be. You can’t win a
victory, without waging war against the enemy—and in this case, the enemy is indeed
Obama.
