I realize many of you have done your research on how to invest, donate, and spend your money (Lord knows we have had plenty of time to do that, LOL) but time should also be allocated to how you are going to receive your investment. Preparation is not a huge task and I believe it is essential. Many of us have our dinar stuffed in the sock drawer, safe deposit box at the bank, or maybe even locked in the pages of your Bible but when that day arrives for you to exchange your currency there are a few things you should consider. Here are some simple steps and advice... Give thanks: First and foremost hit your knees! Keep Quiet: On the day you discover your investment has RV'd your first reaction is to scream with excitement and to tell the world. Think of your safety and your family's safety first. Handle your affairs as quiet as possible. Even though this event trumps all events you could ever post on Facebook and Twitter...it is better not to tell anyone about this particular event. Identification: If you decide to use a bank or your currency trader at time of exchange both are going to ask for 1 to 3 different forms of identification. Make sure your id's are current. You will likely use your driver's license, passport, credit cards, student ID, work ID, and/or a utility bill. Banking: If you are dealing with small banks, go straight to the VP or upper management. If your bank has a foreign currency exchange department immediately ask for the VP or President of the department. With larger national banks, go to their Private Banking or equivalent division for customers with great wealth. I think you get the point I am trying to make...If the new exchange rate is considerably higher and you have several dinars to exchange you will be dealing with a high amount of cash in exchange. Do not eat any food that may have come into contact with flood water. IF IN DOUBT, THROW IT OUT!!! Do not eat food packed in plastic, paper, cardboard, cloth, and similar containers that have been water damaged. Discard food and beverage containers with screw-caps, snap lids, crimped caps (soda bottles), twist caps, flip tops, and home canned foods, if they have come in contact with flood water. These containers cannot be disinfected. Undamaged, commercially-prepared foods in all-metal cans can be saved if you remove the labels, thoroughly wash the cans, rinse them, and then disinfect them with a sanitizing solution consisting of 1 tablespoon of bleach per gallon of potable water. Finally, re-label containers that had the labels removed, including the expiration date, with a marker. Q: Is it ok to cook in my kitchen after flooding? A: Yes, but precautions must be taken to protect food contact surfaces from contaminating your food. When cleaning or disinfecting, wear protective clothing, such as gloves, to avoid skin contact, irritation, or infection. It is important to discard wooden cutting boards, wooden dishes and utensils, plastic utensils, baby bottle nipples, and pacifiers that have come into contact with flood water. These items cannot be safely cleaned. Thoroughly wash metal pans, ceramic dishes, and utensils (including can openers) with soap and water, using hot water if available. Rinse, and then sanitize them by boiling in clean water or immersing them for 15 min. in a solution of 1 tablespoon of unscented, liquid chlorine bleach per gallon of drinking water (or the cleanest, clearest water available). If using a dishwasher, run the dishwasher empty through three complete cycles to flush the water lines and assure that they are cleaned internally before washing equipment and utensils in it. Thoroughly wash countertops with soap and water, using hot water if available. Rinse, and then sanitize by applying a solution of 1 tablespoon of unscented, liquid chlorine bleach per gallon of drinking water (or the cleanest, clearest water available). Allow to air dry. Update from Foghorn Wed. Morning in OOMC 9:24 AM [foghorn] Good Morning everyone, I want to follow up my last nights post with a little more updated information. I spoke with my brother again this morning he still is seeing the rate for the IQD at $3.68 on their bank screen, I asked about the color and he said it is amber and will go to green once the rate is live. In his words, this is the process that takes place when currency rates change, it may be only a day or might take a week or so for the process to complete itself. If you remember Okie stated that the RV was activated last week Tuesday (8/24) and that I could be up to ten days for it to show, as was the case with Kuwait. Please don't hammer me with questions, this is all I know. I'm just tlike the rest of you, waiting and excited.
