[Apocalypse] LATEST UPDATE REGARDING BIKER: A very difficult decision has been made to discontinue all rehabilitation and life sustaining treatments thus putting Randy on Hospice care. He will be transfered Monday to a nursing home facility near our home. You may be surprised at this seeming turn of evevts but in reality his condition has actually been worsening over time. The tone of the preceding posts were upbeat and hopeful indicating that his condition was improving , but he has always remained in a deep coma. What confirmed my gut fear was his CT scans were reviewed by 2 independent neurosurgeons. Their professional assessment was that IF he would wake up from the coma, he would have no quality of life. He would be in a persistent vegetative state needing skilled 24 hour care. Ironically a month or so before the accident Randy and I had a conversation about these kind of life altering events and what we would do. Randy was adamant about not wanting to live in that way. [Apocalypse] This decision has caused understandably significant amount of heartache and tension among the family. However heartbreaking it is for me I can't ignore his wishes to appease opinions that I know in my heart are not what he wants. Today, Friday, he had another CT scan at Barnes and was seen by his neurologist. The CT scan indicated further brain deteriation. His neurological exam demonstrates that he has lower brain stem function only (breathing, heartbeat, normal body temperature, kidney and instestinal function) -that is all he has. It is apparent from his eye position that even his midbrain is damaged. Dr. Zipfel was very supportive of and in agreement with my decision which is ultimately Randy's decision. [Apocalypse] Initially after the injury and subsequent surgery, he was moving his arms and legs and withdrawing from painful stimuli; but he is not doing that anymore. Randy always did things "balls to the walls"-that's how he lived life. He had overcome so much adversity already and discovering he could ride a bike brought much joy. This race was a perfect example of his going for "the win". I want to express my appreciation for all your support, encouragement and prayers. The outpouring of your love is another testimony to what a great guy he is and the wonderful friendships he has made with you. I will be posting occasional updates. Thank you for understanding. An aide to Maliki, meanwhile, said a meeting of political leaders to discuss the looming issue of whether US troops should stay in Iraq beyond a year-end withdrawal deadline had been cancelled, although American officials have urged counterparts in Baghdad for an early decision. "Nuri al-Maliki will be at parliament tomorrow to explain how he intends to reduce the number of ministers, and also to present a new programme for the government," Ali Mussawi, a media advisor to the premier, told AFP on Friday. Maliki's 46-member cabinet, which he hopes to slash to 30 ministers, is the biggest in Iraq's history, and was only approved in December after protracted horse-trading that followed March 2010 elections in which no party gained a clear majority. The prime minister sent a letter to MPs outlining his proposals on July 13, noting that the size of the government had become "a burden" on government work and the country's budget as it seeks to rebuild from three decades of war and sanctions. His plans require dramatically cutting the number of ministers of state and firing three cabinet ministers. | Don's positive thoughts! (Thank you Don for emailing this to us) Greetings and Salutations gang! Love, Light, and Blessings to you all on this fine Friday! Nothing hard core to forward, so just gonna freestyle it... just to connect. So, I was one of those that incorrectly read the UNAMI extension as a negative yesterday, and even ME, Mr. Stay Positive Guy, allowed myself a small amount of emo-crash-age. Today, I believe it is mostly irrelevant to, or has little to no impact on our Hoped for RV. Today, I am celebrating Life, Celebrating God in my life, and celebrating the soon to come RV!! w00t! Depending on your personal way of looking at this.. i.e. waiting for political solutions here, political solutions in Iraq, rumors, intel, tea leaf reading..etc, there may or may not be a few benchmarks yet to be completed. I don't see any of the chosen lenses, or filters, ( political, economical, spiritual ) as right or wrong, just personal for each and everyone of us invested and waiting. Truth is all the data crunching and analysis in the world is mostly meaning less anyway... all I'm waiting on is the CBI Site to change, or Forex..or an Official notice from Dinarbanker.com to CASH IN Sucka!!! Right now, I am personally leaning on believing Phoenix's current theory, seen widely espoused by others as well now.. So, my guidance to you is this; Avoid buying the BS fear being generated about the Gov finances..they want you to be afraid..foil their desires! People that are afraid, are more easily manipulated into their control. feel GREAT that you have some Dinar, hang onto it at any cost, and stand by, for I think this weekend, or the coming week, looks better than ever before for this to come down!
